Traditional matcha latte

Matcha latte has gained great popularity in recent years, and it is not without reason, as matcha has a lovely taste, is healthy and is pleasing to the eye. If you want to try making a traditional matcha latte yourself, you have the recipe here

You will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 10 cl warm water
  • 20 cl cup of milk (optional type, e.g. oat, almond or coconut milk)
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

Then the procedure is:

  1. In a small bowl or mug, sift the matcha powder to remove any lumps and then add hot water.
  2. Using a matcha whisk or a fork, whisk the matcha and water together until frothy.
  3. Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
  4. Pour the milk into a blender or use a handheld milk frother to froth the milk.
  5. Pour milk into a cup and add matcha mixture.
  6. If you wish, you can add a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup to sweeten the latte to taste.
  7. Mix the matcha and milk gently until it is well mixed and the drink is uniform in color.
  8. Your matcha latte is now ready to be enjoyed!

And while you drink your matcha latte, you can enjoy all the health-promoting properties that matcha is known for. Among other things, matcha is rich in antioxidants, which can help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. Matcha also contains chlorophyll, which can have beneficial effects on the body. The green tea also has a natural caffeine content that can provide a mild and sustained energy without the sudden rise and subsequent fall that some experience with coffee.
